Laboratory for Sustainable Logistics And Mobility
Field of Activity – Laboratory for Sustainable Mobility and Transport
Mobility is a key indicator of quality of life, as it enables the fulfilment of both material and non-material human needs (well-being and prosperity). Within this broad concept, transport represents one of the fundamental tools for achieving mobility. It serves to bridge the gap between the spatial and material structures of the living environment (settlements and landscapes) and the functional, non-material structures of society and economy.
At the Laboratory for Sustainable Mobility and Transport, we conduct research in several interconnected areas, with a strong emphasis on the following:
-
Comprehensive Transport Planning
Our methodology includes eight pillars of action in the field of sustainable mobility:-
Parking management – focusing on efficient use of parking systems
-
Street design and traffic calming
-
Walking – the most natural form of mobility
-
Cycling – an efficient and sustainable mode of transport
-
Public transport
-
Car-related measures
-
Mobility management
-
Freight transport management
-
-
Traffic Safety
We explore the role of traffic safety in the logistics system, focusing in particular on the driver as a key element in the driver-vehicle-environment system. This is essential for the safe operation of transport logistics. Our current research focuses on driver perception and behavior under various cognitive and visual distractions. Traffic accidents can have a significant impact on logistics companies, making this an important research field. -
Management of Sustainable Supply Chains
We study the integration of electric mobility and sustainable transport solutions into supply chain management, including green logistics practices and environmentally responsible decision-making. -
Sustainable Energy and Energy Policy
Our research covers the implementation of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources in logistics processes, electric mobility, market research in e-mobility and autonomous vehicles, life cycle environmental impact assessments, and measures for impact prevention. We also address supply chain and business process management in logistics. -
Transport Economics
We explore the economic aspects of transport systems. Core topics include:-
Transport supply and demand within various market structures
-
Transport policy, including infrastructure, externalities, and taxation
-
Transport management economics, focusing on cost structures
-
Organization of the transport sector and its role within supply chains
-
-
Strategic Urban Mobility Planning
Using decision-making models, we address strategic planning for sustainable mobility systems. This requires a holistic approach that brings together diverse stakeholders and integrates various domains into a cohesive mobility strategy. Decision-making models such as the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), TOPSIS, and others are used to support strategic planning.
