Project duration: 1 March 2024 – 30 June 2024
Brief description of content:
In a real work environment, students get to know a manufacturing company, the course and method of work, and the processes that take place within the company. They get to know in more detail basic and auxiliary processes, the process approach and, related to the latter, its importance, usefulness and advantages. For each process, they learn about its activities. As part of the project, students face the practical challenge of solving a real problem, which is to obtain a snapshot and review the existing state of the company’s operation based on a process approach. In order to optimize their operations, they must find suitable solutions as well as software or applications that will enable further analysis. Based on a snapshot of the existing situation, they create a solution proposal for an optimized process approach for the company, with suggestions for improvements for business digitization. For the purposes of the analysis, the existing process approach and the proposed (upgraded) optimized process approach are compared, and the main differences and improvements are extracted.
Students thus gain an insight into the operation of a real company from the environment, while using the knowledge they have already acquired to solve the challenge of optimizing the process approach and digitizing the business operations of the company in question.
